Product Description

1. Basic structure and working principle
- Core components:
- Ball: A spherical valve core with a through hole in the middle. The diameter of the through hole is usually the same as the inner diameter of the pipe (full diameter) or slightly smaller (reduced diameter).
- Valve seat: A sealing ring (commonly made of PTFE, metal and other materials) to ensure the seal between the ball and the valve body.
- Valve stem: Connects to the handle or actuator to transmit the rotational force to the ball.
- Operation method:
- The handle can be rotated 90° (1/4 turn) to achieve full opening or full closing, and quick opening and closing.
- Some designs support flow adjustment (by controlling the rotation angle of the ball).
2. Main types
- Classification by structure:
- Floating ball valve: The ball is supported by the valve seat, and the medium pressure pushes the ball to press the valve seat to achieve sealing. It is suitable for small and medium-sized calibers and medium and low pressure scenarios.
- Fixed ball valve: The ball is fixed by the upper and lower shafts, and the valve seat is pressed to move and seal. It is suitable for high pressure and large diameter (such as oil pipelines).
- By channel form:
- Full-bore ball valve: The through hole is consistent with the inner diameter of the pipeline, with small flow resistance, suitable for pipelines that require pigging.
- Reduced-bore ball valve: The through hole is small, the structure is compact but the flow resistance is slightly larger.
- By connection method:
- Flange type, threaded type, wafer type, welding type, etc.
- Special types:
- V-type ball valve: The ball has a V-shaped cutout, which can accurately adjust the flow rate (such as slurry control).
- Three-way/four-way ball valve: multi-channel flow diversion or confluence (L-type or T-type through hole).

- Advantages:
- Low flow resistance, almost no pressure loss (full-diameter design).
- Good sealing (soft seal can reach zero leakage).
- Fast opening and closing (90° rotation), small operating torque.
- High pressure and high temperature resistance (metal hard seal can reach hundreds of Bar/ºC).
- Simple maintenance and long service life.
- Disadvantages:
- Not suitable for fine flow regulation (ordinary ball valves are mainly fully open/fully closed).
- Soft sealing materials (such as PTFE) are not resistant to high temperature or abrasive media.

- Oil/gas: long-distance pipelines, storage tank imports and exports.
- Chemical: corrosive media (fluorine-lined or 316 stainless steel ball valves are required).
