Grooved butterfly valve is a common type of valve, widely used in fluid pipeline systems, mainly used for medium cutoff or flow regulation.
1. Basic structure
- Valve body: adopts groove connection design, with grooves (such as clamp grooves) at both ends, which is convenient for quick installation and removal.
- Valve plate (butterfly plate): disc-shaped structure, which controls the flow of fluid by rotation. The valve plate can be designed to be concentric or eccentric (single eccentric, double eccentric, triple eccentric) to suit different working conditions.
- Sealing material: common rubber (such as EPDM, NBR), PTFE, etc., used for sealing between valve plate and valve seat.
- Operation mode: handle, worm gear, electric, pneumatic, etc.
2. Main features
- Quick installation: groove connection does not require welding or flange docking, and can be fixed with clamps, saving installation time and cost.
- Lightweight and compact: Compared with traditional flange butterfly valves, it is lighter and occupies less space.
- Low pressure application: suitable for medium and low pressure pipeline systems (generally ≤1.6MPa).
- Easy maintenance: the valve seat can be replaced, and some designs support online maintenance.
