Electric butterfly valve is a valve that drives the butterfly plate to rotate through electric actuator to realize switching or regulating of pipeline media. It is widely used in automation control systems and is suitable for water treatment, chemical industry, power, HVAC and other industries.
Main components of electric butterfly valve
1. Valve body: usually made of cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel and other materials, with flange type, wafer type, welding type and other connection methods.
2.Butterfly plate (valve disc): disc-shaped structure, which can be fully opened or fully closed by rotating 90°.
3. Valve stem: connects the butterfly plate and the electric actuator to transmit torque.
4. Seal ring: commonly used materials include EPDM, NBR, PTFE, etc. to ensure sealing performance.
5. Electric actuator: receives control signals (such as 4-20mA, 0-10V or switch signals) to drive the valve action.
Working principle of electric butterfly valve
1. Control signal input: PLC, DCS or manual control signal is sent to the electric actuator.
2. Motor drive: The motor in the actuator drives the gear or worm gear mechanism to output rotational motion.
3. Valve stem rotation: The electric actuator drives the valve stem to rotate 90° (or partial angle, used to adjust the flow).
4. Butterfly plate action:
- Fully open (0°): The butterfly plate is parallel to the pipeline, and the medium flow resistance is minimal.
- Fully closed (90°): The butterfly plate is perpendicular to the pipeline, completely cutting off the flow of the medium.
- Regulating flow (0°~90°): Regulating flow by controlling the opening (requires a regulating actuator).
3. Main features of electric butterfly valve
Automation control: Can be integrated with PLC, DCS and other systems to achieve remote control.
Fast opening and closing: 90° rotation can complete the switch, with fast response speed.
Flow regulation (optional): Some electric actuators support analog control to achieve precise regulation.
Low flow resistance: Low flow resistance when fully open, good energy saving effect.
Simple maintenance: Simple structure, low failure rate, and low maintenance cost.
